Most people think of ballroom dancing as being "rigid" and "stuffy". This misconception couldn't be farther from the truth.
Many nightclubs play music that you can ballroom dance to...if you know how!
Top-40 and "dance" clubs typically play many Swings, Rumbas, Cha Chas, Foxtrots and Sambas.
And with today's current Latin craze, people are discovering Latin nightclubs and find that they recognize the Mambo's, Merengues, and Cha Chas being played from listening to pop radio.

Wedding Package for your "First Dance"

My dance wedding package is quite simple. I get a lot of requests from brides and grooms asking me to teach them something special and appropriate for their wedding first dance. So what I do is put together a package of three private lessons to teach you exactly that.
You will learn at your own pace and your lessons will be tailored to your specific First Dance requirements. You will not only learn how to dance, but also how to walk on to the dance floor and end your First Dance elegantly. This is your wedding, your night to shine, you are the stars!
Each lesson is one hour long and I recommend that you take the three hours on separate days to give you a chance to practice and absorb the information.
It is recommended that you choose and have a copy of the song you want for your First Dance when we meet for your first lesson. CD format is preferable.
If you are not sure of which song would be best then bring in several choices. I can advise you on the suitability of each choice. If you do not have any music at all, I may be able to recommend something for you.
It is best to wear comfortable clothing and shoes for your lesson. You may wish to try-out your Wedding shoes, but you probably will not want to wear them throughout the lessons.
The cost of the package is $180.00 (please see fee schedule). To make an appointment please contact me directly by phone or email (see below).

Benefits to Ballroom Dancing

Speaking from a man's perspective, ballroom dancing has been a hobby, exercise, a stress reliever, and a very enjoyable activity for me since 1990. It has given me a great deal of mental, physical, and even spiritual satisfaction.
For you the benefits may be less complex. Perhaps, like myself, your confidence will gain a boost. I certainly felt a lot more confidant after learning how to dance. I find that it is a lot easier to meet people when they know or have seen your dancing abilities. It can start conversations and even lead to finding romance and / or friendships.
For those of you already in a relationship I have noticed that spending that quality time, just for the two of you, seems to go a long way in improving the relationship. You now have a shared activity that you both enjoy and it gets you out of the house and away from the normal daily grind.
Over the years I have been able to keep my weight at a relatively steady level and I attribute this to dancing as well. Obviously the physical / exercise value of dancing is self-evident. If you have lead a sedentary or inactive lifestyle then even one night a week dancing can and will make a difference.
Finally, learning to dance has improved my attitude, my carriage, and my polish. I feel that I am better equipped to handle other situations in life just because I have learned to dance and all that happens during the learning process.

I'll bring the music and the steps and even with two left feet,

you will be ..........

Dance Giggle:

Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly and Gower Champion were sharing a
limousine to MGM. A short distance from the studio, however, they
found to their dismay that a bridge they needed to cross had
collapsed, leaving them across a fast-flowing river from the
studio.

Undeterred, Fred declared, "We're dancers! We'll 'dance' across!"
Having spoken, he gathered himself, spun around a couple of
times, and nimbly danced across the surface of the river.
Gene agreed, "Good idea Fred!" He jumped up, and also danced
across the surface of the water.

Gower Champion said to himself, "What Fred and Gene can do, I can
do too!" So he took a deep breath, and jumped out onto the water-
and promptly sank. Not wanting to lose out, he climbed out, took
another deep breath, leaped- and promptly sank again.

Across the river, Fred and Gene watched as Gower kept falling in
and climbing out and falling in. Finally, Gene turned to Fred and
said, "Do you think we should tell him where the stones are?"

And Fred looked at Gene, puzzled, and said, "What stones?!"

Life is a journey.
It's NOT a guided tour.
So don't miss the ride.
You don't get a second shot at it!

Top ten reasons to dance!
  • It's great exercise! I stopped going to the health club years ago and I haven't gained any weight since. I can get my aerobic exercise and enjoy it. Have you ever seen people in an aerobics class smiling?
  • It's fun! A lot of people go dancing. It's easy to make friends in the dance scene. You get to meet different kinds of people, all of whom love to dance.
  • There's a lot of great music to dance to.
  • There are so many kinds of dancing, you can't get bored with it.
  • Anyone can do it. I can't tell the million-dollar executives from the janitors. If you've got some rhythm and aren't afraid to move your feet on the dance floor, you've got it made. (well, almost).
  • It's a great way to meet people. Hey, you're suppose to go around and ask people to dance! Now you have an excuse to go up and talk to that good-looking person across the room.
  • It's healthy. In general, most dancers do not smoke or drink. Most dance environments are smoke-free and alcohol-free. We don't need the crutch of a cigarette or a drink to have fun. Besides, have you ever tried doing a spin with half a glass of wine in you? It's not pretty. :-(
  • A 3-minute relationship You're not getting married; you're just going to dance with someone. Think about it. You have a perfectly acceptable excuse to hold someone's hand for three minutes and when you're done, you can walk away to meet other people without feeling guilty! :^)
  • Something to do with your Significant Other. What better excuse to hold your honey in your arms in public without people giggling about it?
  • Dance and stay young. This has got to be the fountain of youth. Dancing is something you can do for the rest of your life. If you can dance well, people don't care if you are 20 or 70; I know I usually don't even think about the age of whomever I dance with. A great dancer will always be in demand.
